The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik came in rescue of his team when the opponent's captain Ajinkya Rahane tried to shift the momentum completely towards his team, Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the encounter on Wednesday.

Rahane, batting on 18-ball 36, danced down the pitch and was struck on the pad, the ball dropping down onto the leg side. KKR wicket-keeper Karthik was quick to pick it up and dislodge the bails with a backhand-flick with an underarm throw and his body in mid-air.

Taking nothing away from Karthik, fans called it a 'Dhonisque' effort.

That did help KKR to stumble the hosts. RR could hardly recover from that dismissal. No batsmen from Rajasthan came forward to guide the team towards a safe target. They ended up with only 160 on the board, which turned out to be 20 runs short of what could have been a fighting total.

During the chase, Sunil Narine (34) and Robin Uthappa (48) gave a good start to KKR after Chris Lynn departed for a duck. Nitish Rana (35) and Dinesh Karthik (42) remained unbeaten to guide the Kolkata franchise home with ease.

Kolkata have now three wins in 5 games. They have leveled the number of wins with Sunrisers Hyderabad. In fact, they are now the table toppers.
