Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni had asked for a couple of bonus runs on long sixes. He said it after the CSK's epic chase against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their homecoming game.
In the game which saw over 400 runs scored, a total of 31 sixes were hit, out of which KKR all-rounder Andre Russell smashed 11 sixes alone.
“There were a lot of sixes. I think IPL should add two runs everytime the ball goes out of the stadium,” Dhoni said.
A few days earlier, former Australia star Dean Jones has said that he would love to see a batsman get 8 runs if he hits a six more than 80 meters.
If a batsmen hits a 6 more than 80 meters... then it’s a 8! https://t.co/tNIWyUreAx

Countering their thoughts, Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Mitchell McClenaghan wrote a tweet which garnered a lot of attention and praises. Replying to Cricket Australia's tweet on 2 extra runs for longer sixes, he wrote, "Yeah great idea - while your at it... if a stump gets knocked out of the ground or a catch gets taken one handed then the team loses 3 wickets."
