With the three straight defeats, many questions have been raised on the fate of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing 2018 season of Indian Premier League (IPL), but their premier all-rounder – Kieron Pollard doesn’t think the defending champions are down in the tournament at the moment.

On the eve of the MI’s next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday (17 April) at Wankhede Stadium, Pollard stressed on the need to put behind their defeats, as well as, the need to try to be consistent to finish off the game.

The West Indian also believes that MI needs to improve their bowling department, saying they need to take 10 wickets to win the match in the IPL 2018. During the pre-match conference, Pollard even asked the journalist to share their ideas to turn around their fortunes in the tournament after their questions over their three close defeats on the trot.

As per reports in PTI, Pollard told reporters, “I don’t think we are down right now. If we were down, we should be home. We have got over that. We have had conversations going. We had talks at different levels of where we need to go forward and actually try and finish off games.”

He further explained, “Two of those matches were nine wickets. That is an area to improve. Take 10 wickets to win the match. It is just a matter of trying to be consistent in what you are trying to achieve, especially at the back end of the innings. I think 190-odd on any ground is sometimes defendable.”

Pollard signed off by saying, “Three games in a row, we have lost in the last over. If you guys have any idea to tell us how to get over the line, if it happens again, you guys obviously know a lot of cricket, so, give us an idea of what to do.”
