Delhi Daredevils travelled to Eden Gardens as Kolkata Knight Riders hosted their former captain Gautam Gambhir. Both teams had come into the game with one win each from three matches played.

Delhi Daredevils chose to field first, as Gautam Gambhir won the toss. DD brought in Chris Morris, who got better from his illness and KKR brought Tom Curran back into the team.

Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn opened for KKR, but Narine got out for 1 to Boult. Lynn and Uthappa added 55 runs for the second wicket, in which Uthappa scored 35 from 19 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours. Lynn scored 31 off 29 balls, before Shami had him caught by Roy.

Dinesh Karthik was dismissed for 19 by Morris, and this bought Andre Russell to the crease and he changed the game for KKR along with Nitish Rana from here. Russell smoked 41 from 12 balls with 6 sixes to his name. Nitish Rana scored 59 off 34 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Rana and Russell added 61 runs in about 4 overs.

In the end, KKR finished at 200/9, losing 3 wickets to Rahul Tewatia in the last over. Trent Boult was the pick of the DD bowlers, picking 1/29. Shami had 2 good overs, until he ran into Rana and Russell, ruining his figures with 42 runs in 2 overs. Shami ended up with figures of 1/53 in 4 overs.

DD came out to chase 200 and unfortunately lost their hero of the last match, Jason Roy for 1, stumped by Karthik off Chawla.

KKR bowlers never let Delhi batting settle in. Rishabh Pant (43 off 26 with 7 fours and 1 six) and Glenn Maxwell (47 off 22 with 3 fours and 4 sixes) added 62 runs for the fourth wicket, but Kuldeep Yadav removed both in quick succession to dismantle the DD batting. Rahul Tewatia was also sent back for 1 by Curran. Sunil Narine picked up his 100th IPL wicket, as he clean bowled Chris Morris for 2.

In the end, Sunil Narine (3/18) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/32) proved to be too much for DD batting to handle, as they collapsed to 129 all out.

KKR registered a thumping win over DD, whose batting collapsed under a very good bowling attack by KKR.
