Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosted table toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens in the tenth match of the IPL 2018. KKR has one win and one loss under their belt, with the loss coming against CSK in Chennai. SRH, on the other hand, had won both their matches.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and as per tradition, chose to field first. SRH brought in Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Sandeep Sharma. KKR brought in Mitchell Johnson and handed IPL debuts to U19 stars Shivam Mavi and Shubman Gill.

Surprisingly, Robin Uthappa opened with Chris Lynn, instead of Sunil Narine. Uthappa went for just 3 runs caught behind by Saha off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rana came and scored 18 runs before Stanlake got him out. Lynn, on the other hand, was trying to explode like he does, before the rain came down to dampen everyone’s evening.

When KKR came back, their momentum was gone and Lynn and Karthik restarted the innings. Lynn scored 49 off 34 balls with 7 fours and 1 six, while Karthik scored 29 off 27 balls. Kane Williamson was brilliant with his bowling changes, as they were disciplined enough to keep KKR to a low score.

KKR scored just 138/8  in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 3/26 and Billy Stanlake and Shakib Al Hasan both had identical figures of 2/21 in 4 overs each.

The score is below par and KKR will have to bowl out of their skin to defend this total.

BRIEF SCORES:
KKR 138/8 (C LYNN 49; S AL HASAN 2/21)
