Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils met in the Wankhede Stadium looking to earn their first win in the IPL 2018.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and chose to bowl first. DD brought in Dan Christian and Jason Roy in, while Mumbai brought in Hardik and Akila Dananjaya.

Evin Lewis opened with a surprise in Suryakumar Yadav and the duo took the DD bowlers to cleaners. MI scored 84 runs in first 6 overs and were 102 in 9th over when Evin Lewis fell to Rahul Tewatia for 48 and then Tewatia removed Suryakumar Yadav for 53 (7 fours and 1 six). Ishan Kishan smashed it all around for his 44 off 23 balls, before he was bowled by Christian and Pollard followed him on the next ball.

DD bowlers didn’t let the Pandya brothers blast off in the last overs and though MI was poised for atleast 220; were stopped to 194/7. Dan Christian (2/35) was the best DD bowler.

Twitter liked the way MI batted and tweeted in appreciation.
