AB Devilliers and Umesh Yadav played the substantial roles for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they beat Kings XI Punjab by four wickets to register their first win in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League at their home, Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore, last night

The win has made Virat Kohli, the RCB captain, very pleased as it came on the back of some really fine bowling. Bowling is considered RCB's weakest link. Virat expressed his happiness with the bowlers for restricting the Kings XI Punjab to a manageable target of 156. Talking post-match Virat said, “We are very happy to get on the board. The first home game is very crucial always. We were decent in the first game and we improved on it. We knew the new ball will come on nicely. The bowlers showed composure. Umesh took three wickets and blocked the momentum,”

“Credit to Umesh, Washington Sundar, Chris Woakes, and Kulwant Khejroliya. Once you have five bowlers, you can pick and choose later. We wanted to give them more responsibility.”

After getting praise from his India and RCB skipper, Umesh who won the man of the match award said, “I just back myself and I just practised in the nets. I was bowling quick and at the stumps. Sometimes I try too many variations but Ashish Nehra wants me to keep it simple. I am just trying my best to bowl a hard length and into the wicket."

Umesh would like to continue this brilliant form, where he is bowling really quick and moving the ball, for the rest of the season and become RCB's much-needed bowling match winner.
