IPL 2018: Mayank Markande receives praise from Piyush Chawla

Young leg-spinner Mayank Markande, who has taken the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 by storm with his sizzling bowling while playing for Mumbai Indians (MI), has received on Friday (13 April) a special praise from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Piyush Chawla.

A specialist spinner with the golden arm –Markande, who was brought by MI at his base price of just Rs. 20 lakh, has now become the talk of the town after bamboozling the batsmen with his sensational bowling in his last two IPL matches, as he has taken 7-wickets so far in the T20 tournament.

From Cricket Pundits to fans has been going gaga over the 20-year-old Punjab lad, who has been continuously grabbing the headlines with his sizzling bowling display in his IPL debut season.

As per reports in IANS, Chawla told reporters on the sidelines of a promotional event, “I have seen him for the first time. I think he is doing very well and I wish him luck.”

Another KKR man Kuldeep Yadav, who was also there and a regular member in the Indian setup, opined, “As an off-spinner, if you're getting turn and you have quite a good variation that really makes a difference in T20 format. That's why the spinners are very successful in this format.”

Today (14 April), Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indian will lock horns against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the home ground Wankhede Stadium and will certainly play Markande as his triumph card to win the game after consecutively losing two games in the tournament.
