In the next home game is against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday (14 April), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)  are thinking of making some changes in their game plan following their painful defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk.

KKR bowling coach Heath Streak hinted at some changes in their Playing XI against SRH, as well as, says Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson is recovered from a slight niggle and might play at Eden Gardens.

On the sidelines of KKR’s practice session in Kolkata that was curtailed by evening showers, Streak told reporters that CSK defeat forced them to think about changes to strongly bounce back in the next game.

As per PTI, Heath said, “Mitchell Johnson missed out and was rested with a slight niggle. Hopefully, he will be back for the next game that will add a bit of strength. It was a tough performance (against CSK), we got to learn from those mistakes. We have to make sure we come back strongly here.”

Commenting on Vinay Kumar, who failed to defend 17 runs and became a chief victim of KKR’s defeat against CSK, the bowling coach said, “His (Vinay Kumar's) plan was okay but if you don't execute at this level people are going to hit you. Especially at his pace, he's got to be on the money. If you're bowling at 125-130, the margin of errors are little, your accuracy and execution have to be spot on.”

However, he didn’t reveal his plans but he did not even say that Kumar would not play against SRH. Former Zimbabwe captain further added, “We have got some options available to us and we will have to look at it. But that doesn't necessarily mean we will change. It might be more changing the combination of how we use guys or we might go for a team change.”

Streak signed off by saying, “We just need to put our collective bowling performance in our next game.”
