The match-up between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians didn't look to get such a close finish as it did. A low scoring encounter presented a cliffhanger of a match which deservedly saw a last over finish.

Williamson won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first. Sunrisers went in with a strong bowling attack despite the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Siddharth Kaul took the mantle upon him to lead the SRH bowling attack picking up 2 for 29. The rest of the bowlers shared the wickets around them as the likes of Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan shared three between themselves. Lanky Billy Stanlake picked up two wickets including the important wicket of Kieron Pollard as Mumbai finished at a below-par total of 147. Rohit Sharma yet again failed to score and there were contributions in bits and pieces which helped Mumbai reach that total.

Sunrisers started their chase on a positive note, with Wriddhiman Saha (22) and Shikhar Dhawan (45) added 62 inside the powerplay. Just then Rohit Sharma, brought Mayank Markande into the attack and the match took a sudden turnaround. First, he found Saha plumb in front of the wicket and then found a top edge from Shikhar Dhawan to cut short his innings.  He came back to dismiss Manish Pandey (11) and Shakib AL Hasan (12). Markande thus ended his spell with four wickets to peg Sunrisers chase on the backfoot.

With 12 needed from the last 3 overs, Jasprit Bumrah picked up two back to back wickets in the 18th over in the form of Yusuf Pathan (14) and Rashid Khan (0) to give the match a grandstand finish.

The equation came down to 12 from the last two with SRH's hopes resting on Deepak Hooda who was still at the wicket with the tail. Mustafizur then held on to a stunner to send Kaul packing with SRH still needing 11 from 8. In the same over, the Fizz struck yet again to dismiss Sandeep Sharma for a duck.

In the Mumbai bowling effort, therefore,  there were two overs, one from Jasprit Bumrah and the other from Mustafizur which saw two wickets being taken to turn the match on its head after the initial opening by Mayank Markande just after the powerplay.

With 11 needed from the final over bowled by Cutting, Hooda smashed a six of the very first ball as Ben bowled a wide the next. With four needed from 5, Hooda took a single to make it 3 from 3. Billy Stankale then scored one off the final ball to win a thriller for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Mumbai Indians, unfortunately, succumbed to their second defeat on the bounce.

Twitter went berserk over a nail-biting contest between the two sides and expressed their thoughts on Mayank Markande's excellent performance. Here are some of the best tweets.
