Young Indian batting sensation Sanju Samson, who has gathered attention from the entire cricketing fraternity since his India U19 debut and then Indian Premier League (IPL), has received special praise from fast bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar for his “beautiful batting” in Jaipur on Wednesday.

He is currently representing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing 11th season of the IPL 2018, in which Samson seems in the mood to leave a deep impression with the willow, as the Kerala batsman already hammered two quickfire knocks in the RR’s consecutive games.

His first stunning knock of 49 runs off 42 deliveries has come against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday, though his batting heroics did not prevent his side from defeat at the hands of the hosts.

The 23-years-old has started making headlines in this season with his two eye-catching knocks with most recent against Delhi Daredevils (DD) against whom he made 37 off 22 balls laced with 2 fours, and 2 six to help the Royals to register their first win in the tournament on 11 April at home.

Samson, who became the youngest captain of a Ranji Trophy side when he was appointed as captain of Kerala for the season 2015-16, has had a decent domestic career, as well as, IPL record so far.

However, the youngster has failed to grab the attention of the national selectors since making debut against Zimbabwe in 2015, despite his stunning domestic show and the IPL performances, and Shoaib is surprised why “Samson is not making to a national team on permanent basis"
