The match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram stadium on April 10 was marred by protests from political outfits over the formation of the 'Cauvery Management Board'.

Thousands gathered outside the Chepauk to demand the establishment of a Cauvery Water Management Board, hours before CSK’s first match on home soil since 2015. Amidst all, a couple of miscreants were arrested by the police for hurling a shoe at left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

The incident occurred in the eighth over of the KKR innings. The unidentified protestors hurled shoes which landed near Jadeja, who was fielding close to the boundary rope where CSK reserves Lungi Ngidi and Faf du Plessis were taking a stroll.

Despite the unpleasant turn of events, Jadeja has said that they still adore their CSK fans. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter on Wednesday (April 11), Jadeja wrote: “Still we have a lots of love and care for our csk fans. #fans #csk”.

In the ongoing Indian Premier League, CSK players are doing wonders on the field. They have won both their thrilling encounters thus far.

While the Chennai-based franchise secured a nerve-wrecking 1-wicket victory in the 2018 IPL opener against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede, they clinched another win from the jaws of defeat on Tuesday night against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The clash against KKR was CSK’s first in front of their home crowd after completing the two-year termination from the cash-rich league and the MS Dhoni-led side didn’t disappoint the passionate spectators. CSK registered a memorable 5-wicket victory by chasing KKR’s mammoth target of 203 with one ball to spare.
