The match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils wasn’t supposed to be such exciting, but thanks to the rain, we got to see a wonderful match finally.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to field first. They had brought in Shahbaz Nadeem for Amit Mishra and Glenn Maxwell in for Dan Christian. RR went in with an unchanged side.

The first wicket that fell for RR was that of D’Arcy Short, who had a déjà vu of his dismissal in his IPL debut against SRH, as he was run out for 4 runs. Then Rahane (45 in 40 balls) and Ben Stokes (16) started to give the innings some momentum before Boult sent back Stokes with a beauty of a delivery.

Samson (37) and Rahane added 62 runs for the 3rd wicket. However, Jos Buttler (29 off 18) and Rahul Tripathi (15*) had started to give RR innings some momentum in the 18th over with the score at 153/5 when rains came down pouring and stayed put for more than 2 hours.

As the rains halted, Delhi got a revised target of 71 runs in 6 overs to win the match. DD opened with Glenn Maxwell and Colin Munro, while RR opened the bowling with K Gowtham, as two bowlers could bowl two overs each.

Colin Munro was run out first ball, giving RR the perfect start. Glenn Maxwell hit some lusty blows in his 12 ball 17 (2x4; 1x6), but Laughlin had the last laugh as he had the big show caught behind with a slower one.

Rishabh Pant lived a charmed life for his 14 balls 20 but was dismissed by Unadkat, as Gowtham took a skier with ease. In the end, RR won the match by 10 runs via DLS method.
