Irfan Pathan has thrown his support behind the under-fire Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Vinay Kumar after he was labeled Rahul Gandhi of Indian Premier League (IPL) following his failure to defend 17 runs in the final over against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by the fans on the social media.

It has all happened on Tuesday (10 April) when KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik handed the ball to the veteran pacer Vinay with the hope to save the match for his team, as the match was seen in their favor, he just has to defend 17-runs to win the game.

But Karnataka pacer bowled a no-ball to Dwayne Bravo, who hit the delivery for a six and then Ravindra Jadeja hit a boundary on his next delivery to finish the game in favor of the Men in Yellow in a style with 1 ball at their hands, which left the KKR fans with broken heart and angry at Kumar.

Following Kumar’s costly bowling, KKR fans are continuously criticizing and trolling the pacer for 'winning matches for opposition' on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Later, the 34-year-old went on Twitter on Wednesday (11 April) to defend himself, responding his critics, “Hey guys take it easy, it's just a game. Where were you all when I defended 9 runs against RCB and 10 runs against Mumbai Indians!! Sometimes things do go wrong so CHILL....”

Meanwhile, Pathan responded on Kumar’s post on Twitter, agreeing with him and wishing him all the luck for the coming matches of the IPL 2018 with KRR.

Now, Dinesh Karthik led KKR will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 10th match of the 2018 season at The Eden Gardens on 14 April (Saturday).
