Initially, Mehdi was a pacer but he has to turn out as spinner due to a niggle in the back.

Young Hyderabad spinner, Mehdi Hasan is not worried about his opportunities at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp in the ongoing IPL 2018, but he is currently focusing on learning many new variations at the SRH camp, under the guidance of spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan.

The 28-year-old, who has played a key role in the success of Hyderabad in the last domestic season, is currently working on a 'mystery ball' with SRH bowling coach Muralitharan.

It is known that there are high chances of the spin duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Rashid Khan to feature in the SRH’s playing XI, but Mehdi chose to stay positive, saying he will be doing his process right despite not being in the playing XI in the T20 tournament.

As per reports in Sport Star Live, Hasan said, “I wanted to learn that one ball from Murali sir. So I am trying to learn many new variations. I am not worried about my selection in the playing eleven. The bench strength is stronger. I am very positive and I am enjoying the atmosphere in the team. I am doing my process right, even when I am not playing. For, whenever I get a chance, I will be ready for that.”

Mehdi signed off by saying, “They are big spinners. I am staying very positive. The team winning is more important, not really bothered about my opportunities. I am even talking to these two spinners on how to improve my bowling.”

Kane Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad will next take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on 12 April (Thursday) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
