The fifth match of IPL 2018 is being currently played out between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk. This also marks the homecoming of the franchise after being ruled out of it for two years.

CSK won the toss and asked KKR to bat first. Tight bowling from CSK bowlers initially saw KKR lose 5 wickets inside the first 15 overs of their innings. KKR lost Narine early in the piece for 12. Lynn followed him soon for 22 and Rana too was dismissed cheaply for 16.

KKR pinned their hopes on Robin Uthappa to come good for them after failing with the bat in the last game. Just when he was looking good a misjudgment with his skipper Karthik saw him getting run out.

He hit the ball straight to covers where it was fielded by Suresh Raina who composed himself and hit the target at the runners' end. Uthappa's innings was thus cut short at 29.
