Indian pace sensation Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his better half Nupur Nagar had a candid chat with The Quint after he was handed the role of vice-captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the IPL 2018.

Bhuvneshwar –the highest wicket-taker of the IPL for the last two seasons; is well deserved to this honor, as he has been phenomenal for not only the Indian team but also SRH over the past couple of years.

The 28-year-old, who has been given Grade A+ contract by BCCI, is known for being a shy, soft-spoken fellow, but his childhood sweetheart has revealed another side of the cricketer during the chat.

A proud wife made some interesting revelation about Kumar, saying being married to a cricketer is difficult at times because of all the traveling, though it is not really difficult as they know each other since she was 11 and he was 13.

She said, “Somewhere very difficult because he is traveling all the time, but easy because we were friends and it is easier to manage post-marriage.”

Nupur also revealed that Bhuvi was more decent earlier while looking at her cricketer husband with a playful smile, adding, “He was more decent and innocent and now he has become smarter.” On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar chipped in, saying, “It’s called maturity.”

On being asked if Bhuvi is as polite in real life like he is on camera, Nagar said smilingly, “No, that's the public appearance.”

Well, it shows that the childhood sweethearts-turned-couple shares the sweet camaraderie and friendship off the field.

She will certainly join her husband to cheer him when SRH  play Mumbai Indians (MI) at home on 12 April (Thursday).
