Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach, Michael Hussey, on Monday (9 April), has called for a much-needed improvement in the fielding department, saying there is still a room for improvement and it is “Fielding” in which the Men in Yellow can still be smart on the field.

Ahead of CSK’s first home match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday (10 April), Hussey believes that they will also need to improve their middle order along with the fielding to lift their game and become a dynamic team in the field.

According to a report in Sport Star, Hussey told reporters, “In the field, there is room for improvement and there are some key areas that we're focusing on, in particular, the movement. The flip side of that is, perhaps we’re not going to be the most nimble or dynamic team in the field. But we can still be smart in the field. Even if the ball goes to one section of the ground, we want players in other sections moving into areas to help out.”

Mike further added, “The players at the top of the order, Nos. 1-4, need to take the responsibility to try and score the bulk of the runs. That’s certainly the focus of the team going forward, to play some smart cricket at the top and then try to keep some good partnerships in the middle-order.”

He also confirmed that Faf du Plessis is still not ready to play against KKR as he has a slight side strain and a small fracture in a finger, but he is expected to play against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on 15 April.
