IPL is a platform where young Indian stars get a platform to showcase their talents and make a name for themselves. 20-year-old Mayank Markande did just that on his IPL debut and has become the talk of the town.
Markande had a tremendous debut against the Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the IPL 2018. Markande picked 3/23 in four overs and his wickets included IPL veterans like Ambati Rayudu and CSK captain MS Dhoni.
Though, MI faced a stunning defeat at the hands of Dwayne Bravo, who smashed 68 runs in 30 balls and pulled the rug from under the MI players’ feet; Markande received praises for his maturity and the way he bowled on such a big platform, despite having not played any Ranji Trophy.
Mumbai Indians caught up with the young debutant and Markande talked about his experience of playing on such a big stage for the defending champions.
