Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said that the current crop of young talents in the Kolkata Knight Riders dressing room excites him to the core.

During the IPL auction in January, KKR had roped in quite a few India Under-19 World Champion stars, namely – Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi. Moreover, they have a number of other young exceptional talents like Tom Curran, Rinku Singh and Apoorv Wankhade.

Taking to social photo site Instagram, Johnson posted the pictures of his KKR jersey and captioned it as: “New team, New name ???????? Looking forward to playing with @kkriders & some of the exciting young talent in this team! #ipl2018 #cricket #kolkata”.

Johnson, who was secured by KKR in the second round of IPL auction for INR 2 crores, will now spearhead the pace attack after his compatriot – Mitchell Starc got ruled from the IPL 2018 due to a tibia bone stress fracture in his right leg.

Johnson has previously represented Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich event. In 49 IPL matches, the 36-year-old has scalped 60 wickets at an economy-rate of 8.05.
