IPL 2018: Match 2, KXIP vs DD: Teams look for winning start in a new campaign

KXIP host DD in the first of the two matches today, in Mohali.

Gambhir and Ashwin as captains will be an interesting watch. (Collage)

Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab have been the two most unfortunate franchises in the history of the IPL. The IPL trophy doesn't seem to fit their bill in spite of their best efforts every season. Historically these two teams have had the most number of captains but none of them seemed to have it in them to win it for their side.

In this new season, therefore, both the team managements have looked to totally change the outlook of their side. Kings XI Punjab have roped in big names like Yuvraj Singh, Aaron Finch, Chris Gayle in their ranks and have made former CSK champion Ravichandran Ashwin as the skipper of their side.

Delhi, on the other hand, have roped in Gautam Gambhir who played for the franchise for the first 3 seasons. He then had a dream IPL campaign with KKR leading them to two IPL titles and now 'GG' is very much back home.

Both franchises with new look teams have got different strategies in place to outdo each other in what promises to be a mouth-watering North Indian derby.
