Rohit Sharma's cheap dismissal
The Captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma went back to pavilion very cheaply as he managed to score just 15 odd runs for his team in the first match of IPL 2018. Where it was so important for him to pounder runs he failed. The batsman was very much struggling at the crease to rotate the strike with his partner.  Rohit who was brawling on the crease was caught by Ambati Rayudu on Shane Watson's delivery. Being a leader of a quality side, Sharma will look to step up one step ahead in the next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Krunal Pandya | Sorce IANS

Krunal's Important Cameo in the end
Krunal Pandya played an important knock at the end of the innings with scoring 41 runs off 22 deliveries. After Yadav-Kishan's handy partnership, Krunal Pandya came in to bat to give his team an edge over the Super Kings. Pandya being a pinch hitter on the team had to score boundaries and that's what he exactly did. He struck five fours and two sixes and took his side to a comparative score of 165. Pandya has always been a crucial part of Mumbai Indians, in his previous years too he had a marvellous record with bat and ball.

Hardik Pandya's outstanding bowling despie  injury
Hardik Pandya had a very good day with the ball in the first match against Chennai Super Kings, he took 3 wickets with just conceding 24 runs from his four-over quota besides an ankle injury he bowled really well. Hardik Pandya was not that effective with the bat today but has always been a match winner for his team. He is an integral part of the squad which likes to play flawless cricket. He will surely bounce back harder in the next game on 12th of April.

Suresh Raina | Source IANS

Raina's disappointing start to IPL 2018
Everyone was expecting Raina to hammer runs for his team in the first match of Chennai Super Kings after two years but he failed to stand and was made to go back pavilion on 4 runs. Being a very powerful hitter and a leading run scorer of the tournament Raina was supposed to lead his team with the bat but unfortunately, that did not happen in today's match. Raina will look forward and try to come back with a better performance in the next context against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has the most number of runs in IPL and will definitely seek to carry on that legacy.

Dwayne Bravo | Source IANS

Bravo's blistering innings
When it was looking so difficult for Chennai Super Kings to chase down the total, Bravo came in with a mordant approach to finish off the match on Chennai's side, he withered 68 runs with 7 huge raining sixes hitting all over the park, he played some devastating  strokes that made Chennai to win their first game after long two years of suspension. DJ Bravo is a real asset to the team who can bat and bowl as well. In the first innings, he conceded only 12 runs in his last 3 overs which is why he is called the Champion.

Although every fans eye was on MS Dhoni the Thailava of Chennai Super Kings to hit those huge helicopter sixes, unfortunately, there were not any of them as the skipper went out on 5 runs by Mayank Markande who was the star bowler from Mumbai's side as the player took 3 wickets in his first ever IPL match, it must be a great feeling for him to send  a legend like MS Dhoni back to the pavilion.

Chennai Super Kings won the match by 1 wicket against Mumbai Indians in a nail-biting last over finish. It was an insane finish to the first match of IPL 2018 with a lot of more exciting cricket still to be played in the upcoming days. KXIP will face Delhi Daredevils in the next encounter at VIVO IPL 2018, followed by a KKR vs RCB clash in the doubleheader on a Super Sunday.
