Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda, who will turn up for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2018, is on a mission to perform at his best in the 11th edition of the T20 extravaganza to get selected in the national team.

The 22-year-old, who has been a part of Orange Army for the last two seasons, is confident that if he will succeed in this IPL then he will certainly realize his dream.

Hooda told Press Trust of India, “The preparation is going good and I am feeling well. To be honest, I have to perform well in the IPL and if I achieve that, India is there, and then my dream (of getting selected in the national team) will materialize. I want to play in all the formats. If you see practically, then the road to the Indian team would be easier, if I perform well in the IPL.”

In December last year, Hooda was named in the Indian squad for the T20 series against Sri Lanka at home and then again for the recently concluded Nidahas trophy, but unfortunately did not get a chance to play in both series.

On being asked about it, Hooda said, “There is a little disappointed and that is natural. It is a different experience. I am getting better day by day; I will get a (chance) when my time comes.”

It will his third IPL season with SRH after playing for Rajasthan Royals in the 2015 edition, and the youngster said that it is an added advantage for him to playing in the same franchise.

Hooda signed off by saying, “This is my third year (for the SRH) and there is nothing new (for me). I personally feel confident that the franchise has retained me. I know the situations and the ground, there is a definite advantage.”
