Delhi Daredevils are wearing a new look this year, as their squad looks good enough to cause a few upsets in IPL 2018. However, they were struck a big blow when their star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada from South Africa was ruled out of the IPL 2018 due to a back injury.
Now Delhi Daredevils have named experienced England fast bowler Liam Plunkett as Rabada’s replacement. The 33-year-old all-rounder has played 119 T20 matches, scoring 627 runs and taking 110 wickets with a best of 5/31.
This will be the first time for Plunkett in Indian Premier League and it raises the value of English player in the cash-rich T20 league.
Rabada was ruled out for 3-4 months and Proteas team doctor Mohammed Moosajee said in a statement on Thursday, “Kagiso has been diagnosed with a lower back stress reaction, which will rule him out of cricket action for up to three months."
Delhi Daredevils play their first match of IPL 2018 against Kings XI Punjab on April 8th, 2018.
