Sunil Narine who was recently reported for his action in the Pakistan Super League has been now asked to go through a test on his action in Chennai by the BCCI & IPL governing council. This is according to the IPL guidelines laid down by the BCCI that any bowler who has been reported for his action will have to go through a test on it in a Board-accredited clinic. 

The Windies spinner will have to visit the bio-mechanical facility at the Sri Ramachandra Sports Medicine Centre, which is the only facility for such issues in the country, in Chennai. He will have to prove the legality of his bowling action ahead of the season. 
 
Narine was first reported for the suspect action during the 2014 cricketing season and has since been in trouble for the same on more than one occasion. He recently dropped himself from international commitments for the West Indies because of the same and felt he needs to be absolutely ready and comfortable with his action before he could play international cricket.

He has a race against time, though as Kolkata Knight Riders have their first encounter with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in at the Eden Gardens on April 8. He might not be featuring in the game. KKR had earlier retained him before the auction alongside Andre Russel. He's been playing a big role in the team's success. 

Narine will be tested using 3-D technology and sensors for assessing elbow flexion from different angles the report of which will be sent to the BCCI Suspect Action Committee comprising S. Venkatraghavan, Javagal Srinath and A.V. Jayaprakash for a final decision regarding his availability. The ICC procedure for the same will have to be followed too. 

KKR will be hoping for the best for Sunil Narine before their season opener.
