The countdown to the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun, as the Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) is all set to spread the purple and gold phenomena in the mega T20 bonanza, launching their new anthem on Thursday (6 April) for the much awaited 2018 season.

With all team is gearing up for the mega T20 extravaganza, KKR came up with their ultimate anthem with a tagline of ‘KKR Hai Taiyaar’ (KKR is ready) to boost the morale of the Men in Purple.

KKR, who have enjoyed IPL glory twice under Gautam Gambhir in the first decade of the T20 league, is one of the most loved IPL franchisees, and popularly known with their anthem of ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo’ in the tournament so far. But this time, Bollywood's King of Romance and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has released his team's super hit anthem in a new style on their official YouTube channel.

In the one-minute long video, Shah Rukh Khan is saying in a colorful style, 'KKR is ready’, while the color palette focuses on team colors - purple and yellow. Through the video, which has been viewed more than a million times so far, the KKR co-owner is trying to lift the spirits of his players.

However, this season Dinesh Karthik will lead the KKR and whether he succeeds in meeting the expectations of their supporters or not, it will tell the time, but the way KKR released its anthem that shows that the Purple Army is gunning for the third IPL title this season.

KKR will begin their IPL 2018 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 8 April in Kolkata.
