IPL 2018: MS Dhoni still has the same calmness within him, says CSK fielding coach Rajiv Kumar

Newly-appointed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fielding coach –Rajiv Kumar, on Sunday, said that MS Dhoni has the same calmness in the CSK camp that he had in his initial days when he played with him in the First-class cricket, which “makes it a great place to work for”.

He is excited to work with the former Indian skipper and CSK skipper –Dhoni in the upcoming 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Rajiv further said that being a fielding coach is a different challenge, but hoping to contribute in team's cause.

Jharkhand coach also said he is excited and lucky enough that he got chance to work with some great of the gentlemen’s game in the CSK camp.

Speaking to the official website of CSK (chennaisuperkings.com), the right-handed batsman said, “I’ve known (MS) Dhoni for a long time and I can feel his same calmness in CSK and this makes it a great place to work for. Being role-specific this is a different challenge, but then, I have always loved fielding, and hopefully, I will contribute to the team in this department.”

Kumar continued, “I am lucky to be working with experienced coaches and established players and I see this as a great opportunity to learn. I am really excited.”

It was just a practice match of the Men in Yellow at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, but there were around 10,000 fans came to watch an intra-squad practice match, and Kumar was amazed at the fan support for the franchise.

He signed off by saying, “The past week has been unbelievable in terms of the crowds that came to watch the side train. The passion of the fans has been simply unbelievable.”
