Former England captain Michael Vaughan is backing Rajasthan Royals (RR) this year in IPL 11. Vaughan had backed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earlier, but his tweet during IPL auction 2018 cleared that he has moved on and will be supporting RR this year.
It can be because of his one of the favorites Jos Buttler, was bought by RR. Vaughan had also tweeted a comparison between Buttler and former India skipper MS Dhoni. He stated that the England cricketer is currently a better finisher than Dhoni in ODIs.
Already decided ... @rajasthanroyals are my new favourite #IPL team ... apologies @ChennaiIPL but I have moved on ...

Though Vaughan is supporting Rajasthan, he feels Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will lift the IPL trophy this year. He was asked about his choice by a fan on Twitter and he replied, "Supporting @rajasthanroyals ... but I think @KKRiders might Win this year...."

KKR have appointed a new captain in Dinesh Karthik, after Gautam Gambhir decided to move to his home team of Delhi Daredevils. Injuries have plagued KKR even before the season starts.
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out from the IPL; while Chris Lynn and Andre Russell are recovering from their injuries.
The opening game is a much-awaited encounter, as arch-rivals Mumbai Indians and CSK will clash on April 7 in Wankhede Stadium.
