Former Australia batsman Dean Jones has never been shy of trying new things over the course of his dynamic playing, broadcasting, and coaching career. During the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL), the 57-year-old had become the talk of the town for his simple method of wearing a suit, rather than the tracksuit.
Jones, who coached the triumphant Islamabad United franchise in PSL 3, has appeared more like a football manager than a cricket coach. And now he has offered the same piece of suit to his fellow countryman Brad Hodge, who will mentor the Kings XI Punjab side in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Jones and Hodge exchanged a funny twitter conversation on Saturday (March 31) wherein the former revealed that the suit is being dry-cleaned now and the KXIP coach can have it for better luck.
The conversation started when a cricket fan posted Dean Jones’ picture in socks and asked the Islamabad United coach to disclose the rationale behind such attire.
“Like my golf stance that @elkpga told me to employ! Don’t like the socks? ????” Jones replied.

Brad Hodge then entered in the discussion, saying: “Sir Alex jones has ditched the suit for thongs in true Aussie bbq style????????????????”.

“#TheSuit is being dry cleaned.. do you need it at the @lionsdenkxip ? ????⚖️#goodluck @IPL @StarSportsIndia” Dean Jones retorted.

The newly appointed KXIP coach didn’t hesitate to accept the suit and termed it as a ‘championship winning’.
“Would love it. It is a championship winning suit full of success” Brad Hodge wrote.
