Sunrisers Hyderabad received a big blow when their captain and their most run getter in the last 3 seasons of IPL; David Warner was suspended from the IPL 11 by the IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla. This was the result of Warner’s involvement in the ball tampering scandal in South Africa.

Sunrisers later named Kane Williamson as their captain for IPL 2018 and were allowed by the IPL GC to name a replacement for Warner, who will miss the entire IPL 11.

Now, it has been revealed that SRH have picked English opener Alex Hales to replace Warner in the Orange Army. Hales, who was the first man to get out on 99 in T20Is, was also the first English batsman to score a T20I century.

Overall, Hales has scored 4704 runs in 174 T20 matches at an average of 28.85 and strike rate of 143.54. He has scored 2 centuries and 30 fifties in his career. He was previously featured in the Mumbai Indians team in IPL.
