Delhi Daredevils bagged a coup in Ricky Ponting as their head coach and Gautam Gambhir as their captain for the upcoming IPL 2018.
Ponting had deviated from the usual preparations during the Delhi Daredevils’ training camp ahead of the new season of IPL and ahs players focused on bonding with each other. Engaging the players through fielding drills has become an integral part of his training. It is as if he wants his players to develop an attitude on the field and using those extra hours of fielding drills could possibly ensure a team bonding.
The team has started their preparations for the season.

Delhi spent significant time with the pick-up throws, close and long catching, hitting the stumps practice, cover-up for over-throws practice and so on and so forth. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were the most active players during the drills.

Ponting devised the fielding drill as a method to get his players to bond together, something he finds of utmost importance.
Delhi Daredevils have never won the title and their last few years in the league have been sorrowful to say the least. Ponting comes with lots of reputation, with coaching Mumbai Indians to IPL title previously.
The strategy to bond well through fielding and taking other off-the-field decision is certainly making the team believe that here is someone who is really a hands-on coach.
