Dhoni has played 8 years for CSK and led them to two IPL titles.

Like the ardent fans of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), skipper MS Dhoni was also eager for his comeback to Chennai franchise. CSK were banned for 2 years and Dhoni had to play for another franchise, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), which he would not have thought about. What was more shocking was his downfall as skipper of Pune.

RPS finished second last on the IPL 2016 points table. A shocker for Dhoni, who wouldn't have to plan the play-off strategies for the first time. Later, in 2017, the former India skipper was replaced by Australian cricketer Steve Smith as captain of the franchise. Not only that, the bitter digs on Dhoni by Harsh Goenka, brother of RPS owner Sanjeev Goenka, had made his experience for RPS worse.

Now, after 2 long years, which turned out to be very very long for Dhoni than he expected, the 'Thala' is back in yellow. These two years made him realize the importance of CSK, whom he led to two IPL triumphs.

Dhoni was seen emotional in an event where he spoke about the return of CSK. That was rare, very rare for a man who buries emotions inside him. It tells how much CSK means for him.  He thanked the fans for their support and signed off. His fans can't wait to see him back in yellow on 7th April.
