IPL 2018 starts from April 7 with all the heavyweight and popular IPL teams taking on each other with a start of a new decade to this cash-rich tournament.

The season will also see the comeback of two very popular franchise Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals back in the IPL fold after 2 years of suspension.

Meanwhile, a game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils has been rescheduled from  May 12 to April 21 because of a date-clash with the Karnataka assembly elections.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the change on Wednesday (March 28) night after the poll dates were declared on Tuesday.

“When the IPL schedule was worked out, the BCCI was aware of the elections in Karnataka. We were informed that once the election dates were announced the schedule would be re-worked to make sure all the RCB matches would be held in Bengaluru only,” a KSCA spokesperson told Sportstar.

Barring this game, there is no other change that has been made to the IPL roster.

In another important news concerning the IPL, David Warner and Steve Smith who were the captains of their respective franchises, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will not be a part of this year's IPL after Cricket Australia has suspended them for a year due to their involvement in the ball tampering scandal.

Interestingly both these players were retained by their respective franchises particularly for this role but their suspension now means that the management will have to announce the name of their new skipper. While Rajasthan Royals have named Ajinkya Rahane as their skipper for the season, SRH is yet to name their new skipper for the season.
