Rajiv Shukla, IPL commissioner has officially banned the tainted Australia duo of Steve Smith and David Warner from playing in the upcoming season of IPL 11.
Steve Smith and David Warner were supposed to play and captain Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively in the IPL 2018 season, but in the aftermath of the South Africa ball tampering saga; IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla said, “The franchises will get replacements for the players as they (David Warner and Steve Smith) will not be allowed to play this year.”

Replacements will be allowed for both the franchises. Steve Smith and David Warner both copped 12 months of ban from cricket Australia each. Cameron Bancroft, the third participant in the sandpapergate was banned for nine months.
Rajasthan Royals have already named Ajinkya Rahane as their captain and Sunrisers Hyderabad had stated that they will wait for BCCI and IPL’s announcement before taking their next step.
