There were plenty of hue and cry whether speedster Mohammed Shami will feature in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) or not since the BCCI had put his contract on hold after the news of infidelity claim emerged against him earlier this month.

But on Thursday (March 22), all sorts of speculations were busted. Firstly, the Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) awarded Shami a ‘Grade B’ central contract then his IPL franchise, Delhi Daredevils, confirmed that the pacer would play the cash-rich league.

"With the ACU clearing Shami, we are all set to have him back in the team," Daredevils’ CEO, Hemant Dua, quoted by Sportstar as saying.

It is learnt that Shami will be joining the Daredevils camp in the national capital from March 28.

"We start the camp next week and he will be available then," Dua added.

During the IPL auction in January, the DD franchise had used RTM card to secure the services of Shami for INR 3 crores. However, until yesterday they were uncertain about Shami's future in IPL 2018. No wonder, this decision came in as a huge relief for the franchise.

"Shami is one of our main players and we are looking forward to having him on board," Dua concluded.

The BCCI had withheld Shami’s contract after multiple allegations from his wife Hasin Jahan on March 7. Subsequently, the Vinod Rai led CoA had asked Neeraj Kumar, the head of the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit, to probe the matter thoroughly and file a report within a week. Neeraj Kumar submitted his report to the CoA and BCCI in a release said that ‘CoA is of the view that no further actions/ proceedings under the BCCI anti-corruption code are warranted in the matter’.
