IPL 2018: Shardul Thakur excited to play along with MS Dhoni again

Indian seamer – Shardul Thakur, who will be turning out for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is excited to play once again along with MS Dhoni in the upcoming 11th edition of the IPL 2018, starting from 7 April.

The 26-year-old, who has previously played along with Dhoni for the Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL 2017, saying his advice behind the stumps was a big boost for him, and he is now looking forward to more valuable advice from him this IPL season as well.

According to a report in the official website of CSK, Thakur said, “I am very happy and excited to be playing along with MS Dhoni again in the Indian Premier League. I believe I had a good season with Rising Pune Supergiant in the last IPL. Dhoni standing behind the stumps and advising us from time to time with all his experience was a big boost for me personally.”

The medium-pace bowler further said, “The situation does not change this year, too, as he will be behind the stumps again while we represent CSK and I am really looking forward to more valuable advice from him and to give some good match-winning performances.”

He brought up by the CSK for a whopping 2.60 Crores during the IPL Auction 2018, and the Palghar-born bowler feels grateful to have been picked up by the franchise. It is just a dream come true for the young bowler to share CSK dressing with some great of the game.

He further stated on the same, “I am really proud to have been picked up by CSK. I think it is an honor to represent a public favorite franchise. There are several big names in the side and it’s a dream come true to compete and share the dressing room with these cricketing greats.”

Thakur signed off by saying, “It is something which I have always thought about since childhood and now that I can experience it in real life, I feel it is a big positive for me.”
