IPL 2018 has already been marred by injuries as there are question marks on fitness of several players across the franchises.

In a latest development, Mumbai Indians brought in Mitchell McClenaghan to replace an injured Aussie fast bowler, Jason Behrendorff. McClenaghan was part of the 2017 IPL winning Mumbai Indians side and has been with them since IPL 2015.

Mr. Behrendorff is suffering from a back problem and has been ruled out of the IPL 2018. In accordance with the Player Regulations, the Mumbai Indians were allowed to choose a replacement from the Registered and Available Player Pool (RAPP),” the Mumbai Indians press release said.

Mitchell McClenaghan, who was released by the franchise before the IPL auction 2018, has been picked up for Rs 1 cr.

His best season with Mumbai Indians was in 2017, when he claimed 19 wickets in 14 matches. The left-arm pacer had earlier bagged 17 wickets in 14 matches and 18 wickets in 12 matches in 2016 and 2015 respectively.

Mumbai Indians will begin their IPL 2018 campaign against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
