Australian star opener –Chris Lynn’s run of injury might overshadow his participation in the upcoming 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, but Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) CEO –Venky Mysore is confident about his participation in the mega T20 event in India.

Lynn, who was the costliest Australian player to be sold at the IPL Auction 2018 in Bangalore when KKR bid Rs 9.6 crore to retain his services for IPL 2018, is currently nursing a shoulder injury, which he sustained during Australia’s T20 International series last month.

It is learned that the injury forced him to miss the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018, but Lynn’s manager Stephen Atkinson had said that Chris got a positive result from the doctors who said he will not need surgery and the star opener is likely to be fit before the IPL, starting from 7 April in Mumbai.

Venky Mysore told Sportstar, “Lynn is itching to play, so we know he is going to do everything within his power to get ready. So, we have our fingers crossed. He is being very well taken care of by Cricket Australia support staff and our support staff is also working closely in terms of coordination.”

He also refused speculations that Lynn could only play in the latter part of the tournament for Kolkata. Mysore signed off by saying, “Things are better than what everyone expected. Fortunately, the injury does not seem to be as bad as people thought initially. He is going to be working very hard for the next 30 days to get fully ready, with rehab and everything else.”
