IPL 2018: Dinesh Karthik announced as captain of KKR for IPL 11

With the IPL 11 about a month away, all the teams are looking at permutations and combinations for their teams. Some teams have a settled looking playing XI and have named captains of their sides for the upcoming season.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders were the only team had not named a captain; but they took to Star Sports and did just that.

KKR have named wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik as their captain for IPL 11.

Dinesh Karthik has played for almost every franchise in the tournament and was bought by KKR for Rs. 7.60 cr. Karthik has been an IPL veteran and has been a vital player of every team he has played for. He has played 152 matches and scored 2903 runs in IPL at a strike rate of 125.94.

Karthik has previously led Delhi Daredevils in IPL and has captained other franchises here and there.

KKR will hope that his experience with the bat and gloves and as a leader will prove to have a positive effect on the new look KKR team for the upcoming IPL 2018.
