Tymal Mills, the England fast bowler, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2017; went unsold in the IPL 2018 auction.

Mills, who suffers from a congenital back problem and can only play T20 cricket, as picked by the RCB team for £1.4million in IPL 2017 auction. Mills played for the Hobart Hurricanes in the recent edition of BBL, but failed to make an impact, something that might have played an important role in him going unsold in the auction.

I had a poor Big Bash and the timing of that wasn’t that great for my chances of playing in the IPL. But then I can’t really complain as last year I had a great time with Royal Challengers Bangalore and as always, there are ups and downs in all aspects of life,” Mills told SkySports.

Mills continued, “There are two sides to the coin, and I have now experienced both sides of that. It’s all about timing, so a poor Big Bash showing for me leading into the IPL auction wasn’t great and I went unsold in the 2018 edition of the IPL. All I can do now is to focus on having a good PSL and as we know, guys get injured for whatever reasons and I could still get a call-up.

Mills hoped a good PSL may get him a call back in IPL and the England team, “Whether it’s a call-up for England or a chance to play in the IPL, I need to have some good games for Karachi Kings and all those things will take care of themselves.

Eight England players were picked up in the IPL 2018 auctions with Ben Stokes being the biggest earner but Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Jason Roy, Sam Billings, Chris Jordan and Mark Wood will also feature.

I can’t wait,” Mark Wood, who will play for CSK, said. “It’s a huge and very successful franchise with some world-class players.

Wood added, “The team is a little bit older and full of experienced players I have watched on the TV and been in awe of, such as MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh. True Indian greats. We also have some great overseas lads, like Mitchell Santner, and my fellow Englishman Sam Billings, so I can’t want to get out there and try and win games for the club in one of the biggest competitions.
