Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batsman –Narayan Jagadeesan, who was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for his base price of 20 Lakhs during the IPL Auction 2018, is excited with the prospects of sharing the dressing room with former Indian skipper and current keeper –MS Dhoni.

On being asked about his feeling when the auction was going on in Bengaluru, where he was picked up by CSK on Day 2 of the auction, the 22-year-old said there were no expectations to make it to the IPL 2018, but he was thrilled when Chennai made the bid for him on Sunday.

Speaking to Sportstar, Jagadeesan said, “I was watching the auction on TV and although there were no expectations, it was hard to shake off the jitters. I just sat on the couch hoping someone would pick me and since it was CSK, it felt great! I think it’s a very good opportunity for me.”

With MS Dhoni behind the stumps, there will be fewer chances for Jagadessan to get regular games, but he wants to ‘leave a mark’ whenever he will get a chance to play. He added, “With the likes of Dhoni in the team, I might not get a chance to play – maybe one game here and there and in that one outing, I need to leave a mark.”

An excited Coimbatore-born young keeper also said that it is going be a great learning curve for him and he is looking forward to sharing the dressing room with Dhoni, saying it gives him goosebumps.

Jagadeesan signed off by saying, “It is going be a great learning curve. MS Dhoni is an idol to so many cricketers. The mere thought of sitting next to him in the dressing room gives me goosebumps.”
