IPL 2018: Aryaman Birla excited to be a part of Royals' dressing room

Aryaman Birla picked up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 30 Lakh.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a life-changing tournament for players across the world because it provides the opportunity to showcase their talent to get the opportunity to done national colors at international level, as well as, is a jackpot for the players, especially from a poor financial state.

Aryaman Birla, who was picked up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 30 Lakh, during the IPL Auction over the weekend in Bengaluru. Though money wouldn't have really mattered for Aryaman as his father –Industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, who has a net worth of close to 12.7 billion dollars, is elated to get a huge opportunity to share the dressing room with so many legends.

However, it was his brilliant show for Madhya Pradesh which led him to the coming edition of the IPL 2018. He has played a handful of matches in Ranji trophy cricket and was the top-scorer in the CK Nayudu Trophy with 795 runs in six matches from 11 innings at an average of 79.50.

Aryaman told Sportstar, “It is a huge learning curve for me. For a young cricketer, this is a huge opportunity and I am really excited to be part of the side and share the dressing room with so many legends.”

Initially, Aryaman was representing Mumbai, but lack of opportunities forced him to move Madhya Pradesh, adding, “I moved to MP some three years ago. I wasn’t getting opportunities in Mumbai, and that’s when I got a chance to play for Rewa district in MP. Even coming to that team was not easy; I had to perform to book a place. I am glad I did that.”

Aryaman signed off by saying, “My parents (Kumar Mangalam and Neerja Birla) are very happy. I was in the ground during the auction, and I only heard about it after the auction got over. The entire family is extremely happy.”
