We saw some fiery bidding war in the two days of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 mega-auction. Some of the unexpectedly high bids surprised many, including Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli.

Pacer Jaydev Unadkat was announced as the highest paid Indian cricketer and he got 11.50 crores from Rajasthan Royals. While all-rounder Kedar Jadhav was sold for Rs 7.8 crore from a base price of Rs 2 crore. KL Rahul, Indian opening batsman was sold to Kings XI Punjab in 11 crores.

Indian team was following the auction from South Africa and as per reports of Pune Mirror, Kohli was heard saying "Viru Pa, Paagal Ho Gaye Hain". The Indian captain was shocked after Kings XI Punjab threw everything for Rahul, who has a good performance in India.

It is said that Kohli wanted his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate to stay with the same team. However, because of so high bid by KXIP, RCB didn't opt Right-To-Match (RTM) card for him.

Some of the other players who got sold on high price are Manish Pandey (11 crores), Krunal Pandya (8.8 crores), Chris Woakes (7.4 crores), R Ashwin (7.6 crores), Mitchell Starc (11 crores) and Ben Stokes (12 .5 crore).

Chris Lynn, the Australian big-hitter was another big earner. He was purchased again by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.60 crore from a base price of 2 crores.
