Mumbai Indians' co-owner, Akash Ambani has requested to change the timings of his teams' reservation in the upcoming 11th edition of Indian Premier League. Akash also urged that revenue and viewership of the game will be affected by the host broadcasters Stars Sports.

Stars Sports which had earlier won the broadcasting rights of IPL has proposed a change in timings, they want evening games to start at 7:00 PM. Earlier in IPL matches the afternoon games started at 4 PM with the evening games to kick at 8 PM. According to the latest IPL Governing Council meeting, the committee has considered the request of Stars but did not get any further support from franchise owners.

If new timings are to be imposed, matches on a double-headers day will overlap each other which can result in losing the viewership. Talking more about the problem, Team Owner Akash Ambani said,  "For us it is tough. Because of people of Bombay work till 6:30-7. It's going to be impossible making a game at 7'o clock. You are impacting the revenue. You are impacting the audience coming there. So we are objecting to that."

To take a final decision on the issue, a meeting was held between IPL GC with the broadcasters on Friday. The Chairman Rajiv Shukla said "a final decision on the same will be taken soon" after due consideration from all parties.
