Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had opened their account in the IPL 2018 auction by purchasing explosive opener Brendon McCullum. The right-hander last played for Gujarat Lions in the league and was sold for Rs 3.6 cr.

McCullum expressed his happiness through a tweet. He also wrote that it was his dream to play alongside with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. "Very very happy to be joining up with @RCBTweets. In @imVkohli and @ABdeVilliers17, they are two blokes I have dreamed of playing with!", tweeted the former Kiwi cricketer.

Brendon McCullum aka Baz had a sound strike rate in 2017. The former Kiwi cricketer scored 1518 runs with a strike rate of 142.13. What comes handy for his team is his ability to get boundaries. He has smashed 141 fours and 64 sixes in the same year.

The New Zealand cricketer is a good buy by RCB. Not only a good striker at the opening spot, the Bangalore franchise has added a good fielder too.

McCullum has played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and it was obvious that CSK fans are going to miss him. The official twitter account of Chennai based franchise replied to McCullum's tweet. They thanked him for the memories. "Thanks for the #SuperMemories Baz! We will miss you! #WhistlePodu," they wrote.
