Gautam Gambhir will be playing for Delhi Daredevils (DD) after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) refused to use Right-To-Match card on him. Gambhir was sold in Rs. 2.8 crores to DD in the on-going IPL 2018 auction.
Fans were disappointed to see KKR not going after Gambhir, who has led them to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. This decision by Kolkata based franchise didn't sit well with many of their loyal fans.
While Twitter showed disappointment, Gambhir was happy to be back in the home team. He tweeted: “I AM BACK @DelhiDaredevils @IPL”, on his official Twitter handle.

The southpaw also shared a video and thanked Kolkata for the journey. “Hi guys, just want to say thanks to all the KKR fans for all their love and support, which they’ve shown in the last seven years. Without your support, whatever has been achieved in the last seven years couldn’t have been possible,” he said.
He added, "At the same time, I would like to thank the KKR camp for all their support as well. But from now on going forward, it’s always a great feeling coming back home, coming back to a place from where I started everything. It’s a great feeling; hopefully, with the support of everyone in Delhi, we can turn it around into a champion side. Happy to be back home.”
Thanks @kkr for all d support. Will miss Kolkata and Eden. Now, time to try and turn it around for @DelhiDaredevils @IPL. Happy to be back... pic.twitter.com/Wx53ilU9ka

Lynn and Starc are great buy for KKR But they should have retained Gautam Gambhir. #IPLAuction2018

Most disappointing so far? Easily KKR, No Captain yet overspent on Lynn, failed to retain Manish Pandey, No Gautam Gambhir. #IPLAuction

Clearly a difference in ideologies between KKR and Gautam Gambhir. For 2.8 cr, he was a steal for KKR's right-to-match option if Gambhir was even remotely interested to play for Kolkata. #IPLAuction
