IPL 2018: Brendon McCullum goes to RCB; KXIP gets KL Rahul for a huge sum

IPL 2018 auction is going underway and we have seen a shift in franchises of some elite players. While KL Rahul got a big bid from KXIP, Brendon McCullum had to say goodbye to Chennai Super Kings, as RCB successfuly bid for him.

Here is a summary of players sold in capped batsman list:

Karun Nair got sold to Kings XI Punjab at an attractive price of 5.6 crores. Nair had a base price of only 50 lacs, but his recent form got him more than enough money in the auction.

The 26-year-old had played for Delhi Daredevils (2016-2017), Rajasthan Royals (2014-2015) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2012-2013). In 55 IPL matches, he has scored 1158 runs with a strike rate of 126.97. It includes 8 fifties from the right-hander.

KL Rahul filled his pocket with 11 crores as Kings XI Punjab bid for him. Rahul had a base price of 2 crores has impressed everyone in the home conditions in previous IPL editions. He is capable of scoring quick runs and can be the reliable opener for his team and can also keep wickets. Rahul had an awesome season in 2016 with 397 runs on an average of 44.11. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad in past.

Murali Vijay, who led Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2016 remained unsold in the on-going IPL auction. He had a base price of 2 crores.

David Miller went back to his team Kings XI Punjab after they decided to use their RTM card on the southpaw. The South African batsman, who is famously known as 'Killer Miller' was sold for 3 crores. In his 66 matches of IPL, Miller scored 1563 runs with an average of 35.52. His strikes rate reads 141.44.

Aaron Finch has joined the Kings XI Punjab squad in 6.2 crores. Finch knows for his explosive batting and can hit the ball far. He can fill the void of opening spot for Punjab easily. The Australian opener had a base price of 1.5 crores. This will be his 7th franchise. 

Brendon McCullum was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore in 3.6 crores. Every side needs to have a power hitter for the first six overs, who can just completely shift the momentum towards its team. McCullum is that kind of the batsman.
