MS Dhoni, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise was retained for the upcoming IPL 2018. He will be seen leading the men in yellow again after a gap of 2 years. Dhoni had guided CSK to two consecutive title triumphs in 2010 and 2011.

Subramaniam Badrinath, who has played under Dhoni for many seasons, revealed what difference MSD brought to the dressing room. CSK is still one of the strongest IPL sides despite their absence of 2 years.

"He lets the player be that he can be. Every cricketer has a natural style, what he brings to the table, natural way of playing cricket. The important thing MS does is, he recognizes that. He recognizes the individuality of every player and he lets them be so that they can go on to become the best that they can be. He doesn't try to put too much of an emphasis from his captain's point of view into cricket. He just lets the natural ability of the player grow into itself," Badrinath told Cricbuzz in a video.

Dhoni is loved by the local cricket fans in Chennai. Badrinath said that he may have been born in Ranchi, but he is adopted by Chennai. Badrinath said it was only ideal that he returned back to Chennai after two years.

"He was phenomenal and it was only ideal that he returned back to Chennai Super Kings. As far as even the franchise goes, the relationship and the management they share, that is something that has played a key role in the way CSK have been successful over the last eight seasons," he concluded.
