IPL 2018: Zaheer Khan pulls out of IPL auction

Former Indian fast bowler –Zaheer Khan, who had continued playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after his retirement from the game in 2015, decided to opt out of the mega Auction for the upcoming 11th edition of the IPL 2018, which is all set to get underway on 27 and 28 January in Bangalore.

After the retirement from cricket, Zaheer who was playing IPL till the last season was seen commentating in many matches, and it is not a surprise that he has opted out from the lucrative T20 league due to the commentary.

However, the pacer has achieved a lot of laurels in his illustrative cricketing career and seems contented with it and that's why he has now decided to go behind the commentary box.

It is learned that he has signed up for a commentary stint with the IPL broadcasters for the upcoming season of the worthwhile Indian T20 tournament.

According to a report in Mid-Day, a source close to Zaheer Khan said, “He didn't feel like being part of the IPL anymore. He has played a lot of cricket and seemed quite content with his achievements. He felt commentary would be a different experience for the IPL and that is why he has opted for it.”
