IPL 2018: Governing Council to take final call on Royals home venue next week

Rajasthan Royals will settle their IPL 2018 home matches to Pune if BCCI will not agree for Jaipur.

The uncertainty over Rajasthan Royals’ home venue for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 has finally come to end, as the IPL Governing Body has confirmed on Monday that it will take the final call on the decision on January 27 after the Rajasthan High Court’s hearing on Wednesday (January 24) whether it will be Jaipur or Pune.

After the gape of two years, Rajasthan Royals returned to IPL fold, wants to play its home matches at their home ground at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, and the governing council has decided in their met in New Delhi that it will announce next week about it.

A top BCCI official told Sportstar about the development, “We are waiting for the orders and accordingly a decision will be reached at.”

Although there are high chances of Jaipur to hosts RR’s home matches of IPL 2018, as the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is agreed to support Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) over apex body's terms.

A source said, “As of now, there is a possibility. But in case Jaipur misses out, Royals will settle for Pune,”
